Adjustable pressure reducing valves generally have an adjustable range for outlet pressure, unlike non adjustable pressure reducing valves where the outlet pressure is set at the factory and cannot be adjusted.
The method of adjusting the outlet pressure of an adjustable pressure reducing valve is very simple:
1. Open the black cover on the adjustable pressure reducing valve, find the place to adjust the outlet pressure of the adjustable pressure reducing valve, and use a screwdriver to turn the spring of the adjustable pressure reducing valve counterclockwise to the looser position;
2. Remove the black plug from the pressure gauge interface on the adjustable pressure reducing valve and install the pressure gauge onto the pressure gauge interface;
3. Install the adjustable pressure reducing valve onto the pipeline and close the ball or gate valve behind the adjustable pressure reducing valve;
4. Use a straight screwdriver to rotate clockwise to gradually increase the spring force. You can observe that the pressure gauge reading keeps increasing. When the desired outlet pressure value is reached, stop rotating and cover the black cover again to prevent dust or other dirt from falling into the adjustable pressure reducing valve body;
5. Open the ball valve or gate valve behind the adjustable pressure reducing valve, open the faucet or other water appliance behind the valve, and observe the reading on the pressure gauge on the adjustable pressure reducing valve body. It can be found that the pressure value is slightly lower than the newly set pressure value at this time, which is normal because the pressure adjustment is carried out under static pressure. When someone uses water, there will be a certain liquid resistance when water passes through the valve core, so the pressure will be slightly lower. When no one uses water, the pressure value will return to the set value.
